Dr. Scott Stoleson Bio & Program Info

stoleson_Scott_2010Dr. Scott Stoleson, from nearby Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania, is a professional ornithologist who has published over 40 scientific papers and currently works on management of Cerulean Warblers.  He has conducted avian research in the western U.S., Central and South America, and has led natural history tours to the Caribbean and Latin America.  When not working with birds, he spends a lot of time watching them for fun.

Scott's program will be from 3:00 - 4:00 PM Saturday June 12, 2010.

A Habitat Guide to Warblers - For beginning birders, discriminating among the region’s plethora of warblers can be a daunting task – especially for birds in female or juvenal plumage.  Knowing which species to expect in particular habitats can make identification both faster and easier, and make any rarities more obvious.  In this workshop I will cover the specific habitat preferences, and key associated non-warbler species, for each of the 25+ warblers that breed regionally.
