Tim Baird is an amateur nature photographer and birding enthusiast. A retired science teacher, he is associated with birding groups in western New York State as well as state- wide. He is an experienced field trip leader in the southwestern New York region. In 1985, after surveying the bird populations in Quaker Run Valley, he authored the monograph Changes in Breeding Bird Populations Between 1930 and 1985 in the Quaker Run Valley of Allegany State Park, New York, Bull. No. 477, New York State Museum, 1990. He is a past president of the New York State Ornithological Association and is currently the editor of that organization’s newsletter.
